The British Andrology Society welcomes the Department of Health’s long awaited decision on the future of the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority and Human Tissue Authority. It is our hope that this decision to keep research and clinical treatment unified under one regulator, but review how we can achieve more efficiencies will result quickly in improvements in organisation and delivery of the service. BAS looks forward to taking an active part in the ongoing review of HFEA function in particular with regard to the regulation of sperm donation in UK and will work with them to implement this objective.
